Dear visitors, the photographer of the following pictures came to Sfakia, southwest of the island of Crete in Greece, for the first time many years ago, just to pass through and leave next day. He is still there. He saw most of the 150 inhabited Greek islands, found them marvelous, archaic, beautiful, fascinating - and every trip ended in Sfakia. And there he found unique friends. So it was clear to him that Sfakia is the hub of the world. The pictures in this gallery might help you to discover, to perceive some of the character of this special country. Included also are graphics from old books, concerning Sfakia and other parts of Crete. New pictures will be added regularly.   Your comments are greatly appreciated!
